IMD issued Heavy rainfall alert for next 4 days in Karnataka, yellow alert issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted heavy rainfall for four days starting from today. The department has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru and coastal regions. IMD issued Heavy rainfall alert for next 4 days in Karnataka, yellow alert issued.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued Heavy rainfall alert is also predicted in Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts of south Karnataka. It has also been warned of rain with lightning and thunder in most districts of the state. Bengaluru will experience lightning and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.

The department predicts that the Bengaluru city, Bengaluru Rural, coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi are to witness heavy showers. The rain is going to lash Hassan, Shivamogga, Ramanagar, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur districts.

North Karnataka districts of Bagalkot, Bidar, Gadag, Koppal, Raichur will not be affected with rainfall. The yellow alert is a signal of just watch and the weather condition during this alert is heavy rain from 7.5 to 15 mm.

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya till Saturday, and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till Monday.

Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next five days. Isolated heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka till Saturday, and over Kerala and Mahe on June 3, 5 and 6.
