Heavy rain in the coastal districts of the state till August 16

Rainfall which had disappeared for the last two weeks, rain has intensified in the coastal districts since the beginning of this week. According to the report of the India Meteorological Department, it will rain till August 16 in many parts of the state, including the coastal and southern hinterlands. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be heavy rain in many coastal areas of the state, some inland areas and a few parts of the northern interior in the next 48 hours. Wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour is likely to occur at one or two places across the state.

Hence a warning has been issued to the locals, tourists and fishermen living in the coastal areas. In Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts, there will be good rain as the clouds will disperse there. Koppa in Bhatkal taluk of Uttara Kannada district will receive 43.5 mm of rain from morning to evening on August 9, which is the highest rainfall area in the state.
