Karnataka People, who were thinking that each household can use up to 200 units of electricity for free, now have to apply to take advantage of the free electricity scheme. Yes, the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah has made a new provision for the Gruha Jyothi Scheme and instructed to apply through Sevasindhu to avail the scheme.
Before the election, the Congress was saying free for me, free for you, free for everyone.. free.. free.. Now after the formation of the government, the Congress is imposing conditions one by one for the five guarantees including the free electricity scheme and home lighting.
Now Karnataka Energy Minister KJ George said that need to apply in Sevasindu for claim 200 units free electricity. Only those who have applied will get free electricity up to 200 units.
Griha Jyothi will be implemented from July 1. Initially it was said that 200 units of free electricity would be provided to all, but after the formation of the government, it was stipulated that the electricity will be free based on the quantity of electricity used by the customers in the past 1 year.

Also, it has been said that the benefit of the project will be provided by adding 10% additional units to the average power consumption of 12 months. In this way fee exemption is given for usage up to 200 units. Any customer who has outstanding bill till July has to pay it.
