Govt issued new order to BPL Card Car owner

Karnataka government is implementing guarantee schemes (Congress Guarantee Yojana). Ration card has been made mandatory for Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, Anna Bhagya schemes. Minister KH Muniyappa has announced that if BPL card holders own a car, such BPL cards will be cancelled.

There are total 1.28 crore BPL card holders in Karnataka state, out of which only 97.27 lakh BPL card holders are availing the ration materials. For this reason, the government had announced to cancel the BPL cards that did not receive ration facilities for three months.

After this, the state government has issued another rule. Minister KH Muniyappa has announced that if BPL card holders own a car, such BPL cards will be cancelled. Also, the state government is tracing BPL card holders who have cars. It is mandatory for BPL card holders to link the card with Aadhaar card.

Since Aadhaar card is linked with PAN card, the information about you owning a car will be easily available to the government and inter-ration cards will be cancelled. This rule will be applicable only for cardholders who have whiteboard. But these rules are not applicable to yellow boarders who have bought a car on rent. The minister himself has given a clarification on this.

Once you have a BPL card and own a car, your card is sure to be cancelled. BPL card holders who own cars will be changed to APL card holders in future. Linking of Aadhaar has been made mandatory for BPL cards. Once your ration card is not linked with Aadhaar card, such BPL card holders will not get the benefit of Gruha Lakshmi Yojana and Anna Bhagya Yojana.

The state government has also issued an order in this regard. Millions of housewives are still not availing the benefits of Gruha Lakshmi Yojana because Aadhaar card is not linked with ration card.
