For all this, the minister said that there is no such decision at present. Talking to media in Hassan, the minister said that three lakh applications have been received and all of them will be checked and BPL and APL cards will be given to the eligible people in three months.

He also said that there is no permission to start the online portal for applying for the new ration card which has been stopped. The online portal for applying for this new ration card was suspended when the code of conduct was implemented during the assembly elections 2023. Three months have passed since the formation of the current Congress government, but the portal has not yet been launched.

The Karnataka state government has introduced a scheme called “Anna Bhagya” to provide financial assistance to approximately 1.28 crore ration card holders in Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Rs.170 per month through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to purchase five kilograms of rice.

Nearly 99% of these beneficiaries have already linked their Aadhaar Card with their ration cards, enabling them to receive the scheme’s benefits directly into their bank accounts.

How to Check Anna Bhagya Scheme Payment DBT Status

Visit the official website of the Karnataka Food Department https://ahara.kar.nic.in/ On the homepage, click on the E-Services tab

Now click on the DBT status link

Select month, year and enter your ration card number (RC number) and click continue

Your DBT status under Anna Bhagya will be displayed on the screen.
