Republic Day Celebration: Traffic route and parking system change in these areas

Republic Day celebrations will be held at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground on January 26. As a part of this, the Bangalore City Traffic Police has made a traffic arrangement on the roads inside and around the ground.

Besides, the city police have also provided adequate security arrangements.

Traffic route and parking system change in these areas:

1. All invitees holding car passes are requested to alight at the gates specified in their passes and park their vehicles in the spaces specified in the pass.

2. Emergency Service Vehicles like Ambulance, Fire Brigade Vehicles, Water Tanker, K.S.R.P., C.R.T., B.B.M.P. and PWD, vehicles can enter the parade ground through Entrance-2 and then park behind the Port Wall (toward the south).

3. Media vehicles coming to the event may enter through Gate 4 and park at the designated area on the east side of the grounds.

4. On 26th from 08.30 am to 10.30 am from B R V Junction at Cubbon Road to Kamaraja Road Junction, traffic in both directions is restricted and arrangements are made to travel on alternative routes as follows.

Vehicles traveling towards Manipal Center on Infantry Road will go straight at Infantry Road – Safina Plaza – take a left turn at Maingard Road – Alice Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickinson Road Junction and take a right at Kamaraja Road – Kabban Road and Kamaraja Road JunctionTake a left turn and proceed towards Manipal Center via Kabban Road.

7. On Kabban Road, Manipal Center Junction to Vehicular traffic coming towards B.R.V. junction the has been restricted near Manipal Centre, such vehicles can take a right turn near Webb Junction and proceed towards Meohal, Kaveri Emporium, Anil Kumble Circle by taking a right turn across MG Road.

8. Vehicles coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Kabban Road, proceed straight on Central Street Road, take a right turn – Infentry Road – Safina Plaza, take a left turn to Main Guard Road – Alley Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickinson Road Junction – Right Kamaraja road took the turn, Take a left turn at the junction of Kabban Road and Kamaraja Road and proceed towards Manipal Center via Kabban Road.

For security reasons, all the invitees coming to the parade have been requested not to take mobile phones, flashlights, cameras, radios, umbrellas etc. with them. Those with such items will not be allowed inside. All are requested to be seated in the grounds by 08-00 am.

Roads where parking is prohibited:

1. Central Street from Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand

2. From Cubban Road, C.T.O. Circle to KR Road & Cubbon Road Junction

3. MG Road, from Anil Kumble Circle to Cleans Circle

A Republic Day program will be organized on 26th at Field Marshal Manik Shah Parade Ground. .In order to facilitate the celebration of the program and for the security of the ground, the police have been deployed on surveillance duty in the ground for the last 15 days as a precautionary measure, and all hotels, lodges, hostels and other places of Bangalore city are suitable for those staying suspiciously Monitored.

The Hon’ble Governor will inaugurate the flag hoisting, parade and cultural ceremony on 26th. In order to ensure that no untoward incident takes place, 9 DCP, 16 ACP, 46 Police Inspectors, 109-PSI/Women PS from all divisions of Bangalore city have been deployed. I, 77ASI, 594 Head Constables/Police Constables along with 87 women personnel, 184 plainclothes officers and staff and 56 camera personnel will be deployed on duty.

04 DCP, 06 ACP, 21 Police Inspectors, 33 Police Sub-Inspectors, 97 ASI,/’ 414 Head Constables/Police Constables for traffic management for overall Republic Day celebrations. A total of 575 officers and staff will be assigned to duty.
Apart from this, 10-K.S.R.P./C.A.R. Squads, 02-Fire Engines, 02-Ambulance Vehicles, 4-Empty Vehicles, 1-Rapid Task Force, 01 D Spot, 1 RIVs are deployed for duty. The Garuda force has been kept in a state of readiness.

100 CCTV cameras to closely monitor all happenings around the grounds and 3 baggage scanners, 20-DFMD and 40 HHMDs to check arrivals at the grounds. At Gate No. 2, there is a white V.I.P. For VAS holders, only the Hon’ble Governor, Hon’ble Chief Ministers and special invitees are allowed to enter at Gate No-03 and VVI at Gate No-04P and Pink color pass holders will have entry and green color public pass holders will have entry at Gate No-05, security checks at the gates are requested to cooperate with the police for program security.

Appeal to those attending the event:

1. Those arriving for the ceremony should take their seats by 08-30 am. No one should enter the grounds for any reason.

2. Public arriving for the ceremony is advised to arrive at Gate No.05 via Kabban Road from Manipal Centre.

3. Everyone arriving at the program should not bring unnecessary luggage and other belongings with them.

4. Immediately reporting any suspicious objects and suspicious persons to the police officers in uniform

5. As part of security, those arriving at the ground are requested to cooperate with the police for checking at the gates and the following items are prohibited inside the ground.
