Bank Holiday: Bank will closed 5 days from today

Although there will be a five days bank holiday from today, it will vary from state to state. As the month of January begins, banks will get consecutive holidays. A total of 16 holidays are scheduled for banks in January 2024.

Bank Holiday: Banks will be closed for five consecutive days this week as scheduled by the Reserve Bank of India. Including the fourth Saturday and Sunday fall in the weekend, the banks will be closed for a total of five days.

Although there will be a five days bank holiday from today, it will vary from state to state. As the month of January begins, banks will get consecutive holidays. A total of 16 holidays are scheduled for banks in January 2024. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays.

Holidays are declared based on national/state holidays, cultural or religious observances, operational requirements, government announcements. There will be a holiday for banks from today.

List Of Bank Holidays:

January 23 (Tuesday)- Banks holiday in Gan-Ngai- Manipur.

January 25 (Thursday)- Thai Pusam. Birthday of Hazrat Ali- Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh.

Banks will have a holiday on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day.

This week Republic Day is coming on Friday. Then the fourth Saturday and Sunday will be a holiday for a total of five days.

January 27 (Fourth Saturday)

January 28 (Sunday).

January 22nd is a bank holiday

In an order issued by the finance ministry on January 18, public sector banks (PSBs) and regional rural banks were given a half-day holiday on January 22 for the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Banks in Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow and Panaji were closed on Monday, January 22, on account of the installation ceremony of Lord Sri Rama in the temple built at Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Complex/Imoinu Iratpa as per RBI holiday calendar. Leave was granted under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

2024 Major private sector banks like HDFC Bank and Axis Bank were closed in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. While HDFC Bank observed a full-day closure in UP and Uttarakhand, Axis Bank observed a full-day holiday in Uttar Pradesh.
