Covid cases surge in Bengaluru: section 144 extended till June 21: What’s allowed

Bengaluru: Covid cases making surge in Bengaluru, the Karnataka government has taken a decision to extend restrictions under Section 144, which says there shouldn’t be more than four people gathering in public places with effect till June 21 in the capital city.

As a respite for Bengalureans , the traffic snarls have come to normalcy only on Monday but the happiness didn’t stay with the denizens for long as on Tuesday morning the state government had resorted to Section 144 in the city limits.

On Tuesday morning, The Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and Additional District Magistrate Issued a circular, that “Section 144 CrPC (prohibiting assembly of more than 4 people in public places, except for purposes which are exempted) to remain in effect till June 21 midnight. Bus stands, railways station and airports exempt.”

Here is fresh guidelines :

1.Shops selling essential goods allowed to operate till 2 PM.

  1. All construction activities will be permitted.
  2. All industries can operate with 50 per cent staff strength.
  3. Shops selling cement, steel among others have also been allowed to open.
  4. Parks will be opened from 5 AM to 10 AM.
  5. Street vendors can do their business from 6 AM to 2 PM.
  6. Auto and taxis are allowed to ply with maximum two passengers.
  7. Important departments of the government can operate with 50 per cent staff.
  8. Hotels and restaurants will continue to do parcel service.
  9. Bars will be open for takeaways till 2 PM.
