Big shock for drunker’s, Govt increased Liquor prices

The Tamil Nadu government has decided to increase the prices of liquor sold in Tamil Nadu, under their state banner, Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC). C).

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting on 5 March. The increased prices will come into effect on 7 March. Notably the previous price hike for liquor in was done from 7 May 2020. The prices of liquor were raised by a maximum of Rs 20.

This price increase will see ordinary variety liquor sold in 180ml bottles raise by Rs 10 per bottle. Buyers will have to pay an additional Rs 20 on medium and premium variety alcohol beverage. The prices of beer have been increased by Rs 10 per bottle.

Following the price rise, the lowest priced IMFL will cost Rs 130 for a 180ml bottle. The costliest brand in the 750ml segment will cost Rs 2600. Tasmac markets 232 varieties of brandy, whiskey, rum and wine manufactured by 11 distilleries in the state. The state’s decision is expected to generate revenue of almost Rs 4,396 for the state’s exchequer.

Petrol prices jump today: The petrol prices and diesel prices have jump in the capital city on Monday. Today, the petrol price has been recorded at Rs 102.10 per litre while the diesel rate is recorded at Rs 91.91 per litre. Earlier on Sunday, the petrol price was also recorded at Rs 101.81 per litre while the diesel rate was recorded at Rs 91.62 per litre.

The petrol diesel rates have not changed in the last 24 hours. The petrol and diesel rates in Cuttack have increased and is recorded at Rs 102.42 and Rs 92.21 respectively. The fuel prices in major cities of India like Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai have remained unchanged today and is recorded at Rs 101.51, Rs 104.67, and Rs 109.98 respectively.
