World Cup 2023: Captain ready to announce retirement, 23 year old all-rounder next captain

Former Pakistan captain and veteran Shoaib Malik said that Babar should step down from captaincy after the World Cup 2023. Pakistan team could score only 191 runs against Team India.

Babar Azam lead Pakistan cricket team has made a good start in the World Cup 2023. Despite winning their first two matches, they faced a crushing defeat against Team India last Saturday October 14. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain and veteran Shoaib Malik said that Babar should step down from captaincy after the World Cup 2023. Pakistan team could score only 191 runs against Team India. Earlier in the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan was bowled out for just 128 runs against India and had to face a huge defeat by 228 runs.

Shoaib Malik, who spoke in a program of A Sports, said, “This is just my opinion. As a player, Babar can do good for himself and the team but as a leader does not think anything different. One cannot see one’s batting and captaincy in the same way, both are different. Although he has been a captain for a long time, he has not been able to achieve anything special so far.”

Babar Azam scored 50 runs against Team India. He also played a good partnership with Mohammad Rizwan. At one point the team score was 155 runs for 2 wickets. After this, the team lost the last 8 wickets for just 36 runs. Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah did not give any chance to the Pakistani batsmen.
