Bowling all-rounder Chamika Karunaratna has been re-selected to the squad in place of the injured Dasun Shanaka. The event technical committee consisting of Wasim Khan, Chris Tetley, Hemang Amin, Gaurav Saxena approved the decision to replace Shanaka with Chamika.

Chamika, who made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in Mirpur on 28 May 2021, played his last ODI for Lanka Lions on 31 March against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Chamika has so far taken 24 wickets in 23 ODIs at a strike rate of 28.83. He also scored 443 runs in batting with an average of 27.68 and a strike rate of 80.98. Sri Lanka will face Australia in their next match at the Bharat Ratna Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekna Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on October 16.
