T20 World Cup: Ind vs Pak match cancelled, here is BCCI Clarification

Speaking to the media after offering his condolences on the demise of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s mother in Rajasthan, Giriraj Singh said, “The face of terrorism will now be made clear.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla has reacted to the demands for canceling the India vs Pakistan clash at the ICC T20 World Cup, saying that he condemns attacks on non-Kashmiri civilians in the valley but the board can’t pull out from ‘international commitment.

There have been demands to cancel the upcoming India vs Pakistan match at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 with the likes of Union Minister Giriraj Singh asking for ‘reconsideration’ due to the tense relationship between the two countries.

India will take on arch-rival Pakistan in their first match of the Super 12 stage on October 24 in Dubai. Shukla said that in tournaments organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC), countries could not back out of commitments that had been once made.

Shukla further pointed out the need to hold terrorist organisations accountable and said that strict action needed to be taken against such outfits. ” We strongly condemn the killings(J&K). Strict action should be taken against terror organisations. As far as the match (T20 WC IND vs PAK) is concerned, under ICC’s international commitments you can’t refuse to play against anyone. You’ve to play in ICC tournaments:” Rajeev Shukla said.
