Indian all-rounder Mumbai Indians new captain Hardik Pandya injury made big worry to franchise in Indian Premier League 2024 season. Pandya was ruled out of the 2023 ODI World Cup midway through an ankle injury. The all-rounder slipped in his bowling stride during India’s match against Bangladesh and was subsequently ruled out of the tournament.

Pandya was left out and did not make a name for himself in the tour of South Africa. Pandya has been ruled out of the T20I series against Afghanistan, while Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team. To accommodate Hardik Pandya in the Mumbai Indians squad, the franchise traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore in an all-cash deal. Pandya has returned to Mumbai Indians after spending two years with Gujarat Titans. Pandya won the IPL 2023 as the captain of the franchise and guided the team to the finals in the previous season.

Pandya was sensational in the victorious campaign in 2022 and also won the man of the match award in the final of the tournament. After Hardik Pandya another key player of the team, Suryakumar Yadav, is likely to be unavailable for the IPL 2024 early matches.

Suryakumar Yadav was injured during the recently concluded T20 series against South Africa. Thus, he is out of the T20 series against Afghanistan. Now the information has come out that Suryakumar Yadav is also suffering from hernia problem. It is reported that he will undergo surgery soon.

Accordingly, it is learned that Suryakumar Yadav will take 8-9 weeks to return to the field. So it is almost certain that Suryakumar Yadav will be out of the opening matches of IPL. However, he will join the Mumbai Indians team before the second half.
