For this, players are still waiting for a list of players to be retained by two new teams. From the IPL 2022 onwards, two new teams are joining in the form of Lucknow and Ahmedabad. New teams have the right to retain a maximum of three players. This retention has to be done before the mega auction.

Before the last date for retaining new teams was December 25, but now these deadlines can be extended. This is because CVC Capital has not yet received the letter of intent from the Ahmedabad franchise. CVC Capital has been in contention due to its links with betting companies. This led to BCCI need seeking legal advice. Now that CVC Capital has received a clean chit from legal experts, it is understood that BCCI will soon be granted official ownership of Ahmedabad.

There is no such confusion in the new team Lucknow. This is why they have chosen their head coach (Andy Flower), assistant coach (Vijay Dahiya) and mentor (Gautam Gambhir). The news is that KL Rahul will join the Lucknow team. In addition, Ben Stokes may be part of the team. At the same time, the eight teams that already existed on November 30 provided information about their surviving players.

90 crores for all teams before the auction Was given. After each team retains players, the money is deducted from the purse. Once the names of the retained players of the new teams are revealed, their purse will also be finalized. Players can bid on the IPL mega auction along with the remaining purse.
