She has already surpassed her previous budget streak of five including Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley, P Chidambaram and Yashwant Sinha and has also equaled Morarji Desai’s record of six consecutive budgets. According to sources, Narendra Modi cabinet 3.0 finance minister, who took over as the country’s finance minister for a second term earlier this week, is likely to present the full Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament on July 22, the first full budget of the newly-inducted third successive Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Morarji Desai, who served as the country’s finance minister, presented five full budgets and one interim budget from 1959 to 1964. Desai presented 10 budgets, the most by any finance minister in India. Desai became the fourth Prime Minister of India between March 24, 1977 and July 28, 1979.
