– The Prime Minister of India gets Rs. 1.66 lakh per month.

– Have a basic salary of Rs. 50,000.

– The Prime Minister gets Rs 3,000 as expenditure allowance and Rs 45,000 as parliamentary allowance.

– An allowance of Rs. 2,000 per day

– Apart from the monthly allowances, the Prime Minister of India gets additional benefits and privileges.

– Prime Minister gets official residence without rent or other accommodation expenses.

– The Special Protection Group (SPG) is responsible for Prime Minister’s security.

– The Prime Minister uses government vehicles and aircraft to meet his travel requirements.

– When the Prime Minister goes abroad, the government pays for his accommodation, food and travel expenses.

– After retirement, they get free accommodation, electricity, water for life and SPG security for 5 years after retirement.

MPs Salary and other benefits:

Members of Parliament in India are elected by the public to represent their constituencies in the Lok Sabha. It is the lower house of Parliament. General elections to the Lok Sabha are held every five years.

– MPs get a monthly salary of Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, their salaries are increased in the form of daily allowances every five years.

– As per the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Parliamentarians (Amendment) Act, 2010, the salary includes a basic salary of Rs 50,000 per month.

– Receives Rs 2,000 as daily allowance for attending Parliament sessions.

– Similarly MPs are entitled to travel allowance if they travel by road Rs 16 per km.

– Also gets field allowance of Rs.45,000 per month.

– Rs 45,000 as office expenses per month including Rs 15,000 for local and postal expenses.

– Allowance may be used to pay salary of Assistant Secretary.

– Every month, members get Rs 500 to get free medical service for themselves and their family.
