Country’s largest state-owned bank State Bank India (SBI) has dealt a major blow to customers with an increase in annual handling charges for debit cards. If you have an SBI Debit Card, definitely be aware of these changes. State Bank India Debit card rules change from April 1.
In fact, the State Bank of India has revised the annual maintenance charges associated with some debit cards. From April 1, 2024, the new proposed rates will be effective on the SBI website. Here is the information about how much annual maintenance fee is increased on which debit card.
1. Youth And Other Debit Cards:
For debit cards like Yuva, Gold, Combo Debit Card, My Card (Image Card), the annual maintenance has been increased from the existing 175+ GST to 250 + GST.
2. Classic Debit Cards:
The annual handling fee for many cards including Classic, Silver, Global, Contactless Debit Card is currently 125 + GST, which has been increased to 200 + GST.
3. Platinum Debit Card:
Annual maintenance for Platinum Debit Cards has been increased from Rs 250 + GST to Rs 325 + GST.
4. Premium Business Debit Card:
The full year handling fee for Pride Premium Business Debit Cards like State Bank of India Debit Cards has been increased from 350+ GST to 425+ GST.
