Open campaigning for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 came to an end on Monday and the open campaigning of BJP, Congress, JDS and others came to an end. On behalf of the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself jumped into the arena and campaigned furiously across the state. He canvassed by holding a mega roadshow in Bengaluru. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also visited almost every places of the state. 

Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjuna Kharge also campaigned for Congress. JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda was enthusiastically engaged in election campaign even at a 90 plus age.

Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 Restriction details:

The guidelines of the Election Commission have stated that there are few hours left for voting. The commission has suggested that meetings, ceremonies, festivals, rallies and propaganda using loudspeakers cannot be held after (May 8) 5 pm. It has also banned leaders other than the candidate from coming and campaigning in the respective assembly constituency.

1. The commission has allowed only 6 people including the candidate to go door to door to campaign.

2. No open meeting, public meeting

3. No sale of liquor after 6 pm today (May 8) till the end of polling process on May 10.

4. Loudspeaker use is not permitted for 48 hours

5. Any activity which may increase hatred or create enmity between the candidates should not be done

6. Polling stations in sensitive areas should be kept under constant surveillance through CCTV cameras

7. The state assembly elections will be held on May 10 and counting of votes will be held on May 13. The same result will be published.
