Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. Rashtrapati Bhavan was the creation of architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. Rashtrapati Bhavan has a total of 340 rooms spread over four floors, 2.5 kilometres of corridors, and 190 acres of garden area. Since COVID-19 abated, visits were restricted to just two days for the public. The time slots to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan are available from 10 am to 4 pm.

The move [to increase the number of days] is to make the president’s official residence more accessible to the public and to allow access to it also on weekdays,” said a spokesperson for the President last month. Guided tours of the Rashtrapati Bhavan main building (Circuit 1) will be available to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday except on gazetted holidays.

Main Building, Forecourt, Reception, Navachara, Banquet Hall, Upper Loggia, Lutyens Grand Stairs, Guest Wing, Ashok Hall, North Drawing Room, Long Drawing Room, Library, Durbar Hall and Lord Buddha Statue. You can visit Rashtrapati Bhavan on the said days in five time slots of one hour each, from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm.

Each slot will have up to a maximum of 30 visitors. A registration charge of Rs 50 per visiter per circuit. A group of 30 visitors will be charged Rs 1,200 per visit. Children under the age of eight years are exempted from registration charges for the Rashtrapati Bhavan visit.

Visitors in a group of more than 30 persons will be charged Rs1200/- plus Rs 50 per additional visitor. Registration charges are non-refundable and non-transferable. The registration charges are payable online or at the time of the visit at the reception.

You can book your Rashtrapati Bhavan visit tickets here: https://rashtrapatisachivalaya.gov.in/rbtour/. You can visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, except on gazetted holidays. The museum complex also includes stables and showcases artifacts.

You can also witness the Change of Guard ceremony from 8 am-9 am every Saturday. The change of guard ceremony is a military tradition held every week to enable a fresh group of the President’s Bodyguards to take charge.
