Maha Shivaratri 2025: Banks across several cities will remain closed for two days this week, though not consecutively. Banks will remain closed on Maha Shivaratri 2025 and regional holidays this week.

Banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu-Srinagar, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh will be closed on February 26 on Mahashivaratri 2025.

As per report, bank branches are closed on February 28 for festival. Bank branches across the country will be closed for a total of 14 days – including local holidays and weekends – in February 2025. However, banking activities on mobile and internet will remain uninterrupted, though several bank branches will remain closed on account of bank holidays.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bank holiday’s calendar list has given complete details of states and days on which bank branches will be closed in February 2025. Also, you should note that banks are not closed for all days in a row in all states or regions.

This is the total number of days banks in different parts of the country are closed for state-observed holidays. For example in Aizawl and Gangtok banks are closed for Lusong/Namsoong, but not for the same reason in other states.

The Reserve Bank of India places its holidays under three brackets –holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and closing bank accounts.
