IMD issued heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 5 days

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of India. IMD issued heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 5 days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Konkan and Goa on Friday (June 24).

Heavy rainfall alert at isolated places is possible over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe on June 24.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places have been forecast over East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep on June 24.

India Meteorological Department said Squally weather (wind speeds 40-60 kmph) is predicted over the east-central Arabian Sea, along and off south Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka coasts. On Saturday (June 25) Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan and Goa.

Forecast summary for the next five days

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next five days.

Isolated heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Kerala and Mahe during the next four days, over Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka during the next five days, over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during June 24-26, over Interior Karnataka on Saturday, and over coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday.

Isolated very heavy rainfall over Konkan and Goa during the next three days. Widespread rainfall over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. Isolated heavy rainfall Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next five days.

Isolated very heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal during June 25-28. Fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next five days.
