According to the India Meteorological Department, a cold wave is likely to continue in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Thicker and denser fog is expected in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and isolated areas of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana in the morning and night.

Dense fog may occur at isolated places over Bihar, North Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India. Cold day to severe cold conditions may occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. Such conditions are possible in some parts of Bihar and one or two places in Uttarakhand.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi, Haryana, UP, Punjab, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Northeast Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and some parts of Sikkim will experience minimum temperature between 7 to 10 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy fog in Punjab, while Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are likely to witness fog during the day in the next 24 hours. Rain warning has been issued in many states from January 31 to February 4, the IMD said on January 31, Delhi may experience light rain or light thundershowers.

During the next 24 hours, heavy rain is likely at a few places over Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. A warning of light rain has been issued in some parts. The India Meteorological Department said light rain is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
