The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high alert in Tamil Nadu in the wake of Cyclone Maichang. Indian Railway cancels trains Till December 8. In view of this, South Central Railway suspended the services of at least 12 trains between December 4 and 8 to ensure the safety of passengers.
Cyclone Maichang in southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to make landfall on the coast of Andhra Pradesh between Nellore and Machalipatnam on Tuesday afternoon, December 5, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. Maichang is a severe typhoon with wind speed of 90-100 kmph with maximum speed of 110 kmph.
