Cyclone Alert: Heavy Rainfall in these states for next 5 days

The IMD said that the region is currently under the influence of a cyclonic storm in the Southwest Bay of Bengal. As a result of this, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning for the next five days, the India Meteorological Department has shared information.

Yellow alert has been issued for Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Koikkod, Wayanad and Kannur districts. The alert will continue till October 30 in Pathanantitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts.

Additionally, the India Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of thunder and lightning at isolated places in Pathanantitta, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts during the next three hours. In addition, the department said that strong winds will blow at a speed of 40 km per hour.

Scattered rain with thunderstorms is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andaman-Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. According to the latest weather department forecast, coastal districts of West Bengal are likely to receive moderate rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The India Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts in major districts of West Bengal like Howrah and Hooghly. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is likely at most places on October 23 and 24. Isolated heavy rain will occur over coastal areas of West Bengal on October 24.

There are signs of intensifying cyclones in West Central Bay of Bengal. In this background, there is a possibility of rain along with wind in Odisha coast from Monday to Wednesday. The weather department has warned the fishermen not to go to the North Bay of Bengal
