Bank Holiday April 2022: Bank will remain closed for 15 days. Next month, due to festivals like Gudi Padwa, Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi, banks are going to be closed for 15 days across the country.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for April 2022. According to this list, banks are going to be closed for a total of 15 days in April next month. State-owned lenders in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, and Srinagar will remain closed on April 1, as per RBI’s calendar of holidays 2022.
April 2 will be marked as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Ugadi Festival in Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
April 3 – Sunday (weekly holiday)
April 5, Tuesday – Birthday of Babu Jagjivan Ram – Banks will remain closed in Hyderabad.
9 April – Saturday (2nd Saturday of the month)
10 April – Sunday (weekly holiday)
April 14, Thursday – Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/ Mahavir Jayanti/ Baisakhi/ Tamil New Year/ Chairoba, Biju Festival/ Bohar Bihu – Banks will remain closed in places other than Shillong and Shimla.
April 15, Friday – Good Friday / Bengali New Year / Himachal Day / Vishu / Bohag Bihu – Banks will remain closed except in Jaipur, Jammu and Srinagar.
April 16, Saturday – Bohag Bihu – Banks will remain closed in Guwahati.
April 17 – Sunday (Weekly Holiday) April 21 – Gadiya Puja – Banks will remain closed in Agartala.
23 April – Saturday (fourth Saturday of the month)
24 April – Sunday (weekly holiday)
April 29, Friday – Shab-e-Qadr/Jumat-ul-Vida – Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
According to the list of holidays given on the official website of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the list of holidays of the states is different. These festivals or holidays depend on the special occasions. These holidays are not applicable in all states.
