Aadhaar card: government has amended Aadhaar card rules

The government has amended the Aadhaar norms to mandate that supporting documents need to be renewed at least once after completion of 10 years from the date of enrolment. Aadhaar card: government has amended Aadhaar card rules.

According to a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the update will ensure continued accuracy of Aadhaar-related information in the Central Identity Data Repository (CIDR).

Aadhaar number holders can update their supporting documents in Aadhaar at least once by submitting Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents, after completion of every 10 years from the date of enrollment for Aadhaar.

CIDR’s information may ensure continued accuracy in such manner as may be specified by the Authority from time to time. Aadhaar registration and renewal rules have been changed.

Last month, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the government body that issues Aadhaar numbers, had urged people to update identity and residence proof documents if the unique ID was issued 10 years ago and the details have not been updated.

In a long post, Anneka Patel revealed in details the moment she came to know that she was fired. Anneka said her “heart sanked” when she received the email from the company that she was one of the employees impacted by the mass layoff.

“This morning I found out I was one of the 11,000 employees impacted by the Meta #layoffs. This hit me hard as I am currently out on maternity leave. I woke up at 3am to pump for my three month old baby girl, Emilia. I checked my work email as I was anticipating the email from Mark Zuckerberg about the layoffs and there it was, but there were no details about which teams or who was impacted,” Anneka Patel posted on LinkedIn.
