NEW DELHI: The lockdown order is in effect in the wake of Corona across the country. People will not be able to go out of the house until May 3.

During this crisis banks have decided to waive off the service charge on ATM transactions. This move will help many people who are already in their home due to lockdown without any job.

Upon announcing the lock-down, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that no service charge would be levied for three months even if the money was withdrawn from the ATM. Now various banks in the country, including SBI, have said they will waive ATM service charges till June 30.

Previously, banks were offering three free transactions in metro cities and 5 free elsewhere. Banks were charged ATM service charges for subsequent transactions. Now,the banks have waived ATM service charges in the wake of the central government’s mandate, so customers can get free ATM service for three months.
