Currently there is a provision of Rs 1.5 lakh rebate under section 80C.

If your income is Rs 5 lakh you can save your tax without investing, but if your income is more than Rs 5 lakh, you can use Section 80C of Income Tax. Currently under this Exemption is available up to Rs 1.50 lakh. If this limit is increased to 2 lakhs, you can save 2500 rupees in taxes per year.
