Tata Group will pay full two-month salary to daily wage workers

Mumbai: The Tata Group has taken a crucial decision to shut down its Pune plan due to widespread Coronavirus in Maharashtra. Keeping in mind the economic conditions of daily workers and temporary workers, they decided to compensate them with a full two months salary of March and April.

The decision has been taken to help them cater to the necessary expenses while they are unemployed. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons Pvt Ltd, issued a statement stating that the economic meltdown due to Corona will be worse for the weaker section. So, the decision has been taken to mitigate the loss due to plant shutdown.

Another important decision taken by the Tata Group is a payment to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Chairman said in the statement that all the companies under Tata Group had been told to pay the MSMEs to avoid cash shortage. Most of their employees are encouraged to work from home, and only employees engaged in essential services are asked to travel.
