RTPCR test mandatory for international travellers from 5 countries including China

New Delhi: Taking a precautionary step as the Covid-19 epidemic is becoming severe again in some countries, the Central Government has made RT-PCR Test mandatory for passengers coming from 5 countries including China. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has given information on this matter.  RTPCR test mandatory for international travellers from 5 countries including China.

RT-PCR Test; Quarantine has been given to travelers arriving from abroad if they show symptoms of fever. The minister said that it is mandatory for passengers to wear masks at airports. RTPCR test is mandatory for international passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand. Mandaviya said that people coming from other countries where the infection is high have also been advised to be tested.

Quarantine has been given to travelers arriving from abroad if they show symptoms of fever. The minister said that it is mandatory for passengers to wear masks at airports. He also said that international passengers coming from these countries where the number of Covid cases are high must provide information about their current health condition in ‘Air Suvidha’.

Mansukh Mandavi held a meeting with the Health Ministers of all the states on Friday to take precautionary measures in view of the increasing number of corona infections in many countries including China. In the background of increasing corona infection in China, the government has taken strict measures in the country as well. The minister informed in the meeting that steps will be taken to make RT-PCR test mandatory for those coming from abroad.

Passengers have been randomly tested for Covid at international airports including Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. According to the new guidelines, 2 percent of the passengers arriving from abroad should be randomly tested for Covid. Officials of Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore and Goa International Airports said that action has been taken in this regard.

According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, 87,966 passengers arrived from abroad on December 23 through 29 international airports in the country.
