Popular Front of India: Bet to make India an Islamic Nation by 2047

New Delhi: The ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI) organization has been banned in the country for supporting terrorism. The state governments and the Central Crime Investigation Agency are investigating the organisation. During the investigation by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Force, it was discovered that in the videos seized from the PFI office, it was called to make India an Islamic country. PFI had this target by the Independence Centenary (by 2047). Apart from this, evidence of bomb preparation training has been found in the investigation. Prohibited fundamentalist outfit ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI) had vowed to make India an Islamic nation by 2047, an investigation has revealed.

This point was mentioned in the charge sheet filed in court by the Maharashtra Police Department’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Apart from this, aspects of bomb preparation training using glass bottle, stick bomb preparation have also been mentioned. The Maharashtra Police, which had arrested members of the target PFI organization during the Independence Centenary,

The police also referred to several video evidences seized from the Maharashtra PFI office and members. The police learned that the members were given a deadline to achieve this target by the independence centenary.

Bomb making training

In the videos seized by the police, accused Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Ibrahim Khan was giving a demonstration of petrol bomb making to PFI members using a glass bottle. In another video, women members of the SDPI can be seen making necessary preparations for stick bombs during an action, police said.

Join FFI to unite against India

In another video, Maulana Ahmad Nadvi gave a speech saying, “Muslims should unite against the Indian government. PFI should join for that,” he said in the charge sheet.

Ban on PFI in the country

In the month of September last year, the central government issued a notification banning PFI. Apart from this, the police issued a stern warning to the public not to get involved in the activities of PFI and its affiliates in the country.

Why was it banned?

They were found to be involved in serious crimes including terrorism and financing of terrorism, involvement in targeted gruesome killings, disregarding the constitutional system of the country, disturbing public order. In the ban order, the central government had mentioned that this would threaten the unity, security and sovereignty of the country.

Associate Organizations Banned

PFI affiliates or affiliates such as Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO) ), the All India Imams Council (AIIC), the Empower India Foundation and the Rehab Foundation of Kerala have been declared an “unlawful organisation” under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
