Demand of the autorickshaw drivers of Mangaluru has been fulfilled finally

Mangaluru : A long pending interest of the autorickshaw drivers of Mangaluru has been satisfied with the organization giving a request to build the base autorickshaw charge from the current Rs 25 to Rs 30 with impact from April 1. The decision came at the Road transport meeting held at the DC office on February 27 Friday under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh.

According to the new requests, the base charge for the principal 1.5 km is Rs 30 after which the toll would be Rs 15 for each every extra kilometer. There is no hanging tight charge for the initial 15 minutes, while it would be Rs 5 for each at regular intervals after that. luggage up to 20 kg is free while a charge of Rs 5 for every kg will be relevant for baggage over 20 kgs. The autorickshaw drivers are likewise allowed to charge one and a half times the toll between 10 pm and 5 am.

The Deputy Commissioner also assured to conduct RTO meetings once every three months as requested by the drivers. Mangaluru RTO Ramakrishna Rai, Puttur RTO K Anand Gowda, ASP Vikram V, and others were present.
