Maharashtra 1,606 and Gujarat 1,057 new coronavirus cases reported in single day, till 9am May 17

Mumbai/Gujarat: 1,606 in Maharashtra and 1,057 in Gujarat new coronavirus cases were reported as of 9:00 AM on May 17, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra to 30,706. Among the total people infected as on date, 7,088 have recovered and 1,135 have passed away.

This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Gujarat to 10,988. Among the total people infected as on date, 4,308 have recovered and 625 have passed away.

District-wise breakup is available for 2066 of the total 10988 cases reported in the state. Ahmedabad had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 1298 confirmed infections.

Gujarat’s 10,988 cases put it at number 2 in terms of number of cases among all states and union territories in India. Within the country, Maharashtra continues to have the most cases with 30706. Maharashtra has the highest number of Covid-19 cases in India.
