Lockdown Again in China: Covid-19 fear, imposes strict restriction

China is once again preparing to impose lockdown in some parts of its country. There is a decrease in the cases of Corona (Covid-19) in China, but the cases of common flu are increasing rapidly. For this reason, the special and flamboyant officials of the Xi Jinping administration want to impose complete lockdown in a large part as before.

An influenza outbreak in China has picked up intensity over the past week as the northwestern city of Xi’an imposed a pandemic-style lockdowns to curb the surge in infections, Bloomberg reported. The positivity rate for flu jumped to 41.6% this week from 25.1% the previous week, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said, as per Bloomberg while the Covid positivity rate was down to 3.8% from 5.1%.

After this decision, anger is visible among the people. In Xi’an, the local administration has prepared an emergency response plan regarding the lockdown. In which it has been said that the infected areas in the city can be closed. An order will also be issued to reduce traffic. Also production and business activities can be suspended.

Shopping malls, theatres, libraries, tourist places and other crowded places will also remain closed. China has already been infamous for its zero covid-19 policy and adopting executioner-like methods to deal with this pandemic. In such a situation where there is preparation to impose lockdown.

The restlessness of the people there is also visible in their social media posts. People say that without clear instructions at the national level, Xi’an is planning to issue a resolution to suspend work and business activities, this is not right. According to media reports, along with the rise in flu cases in China, there has also been a shortage of medicines in some pharmacies.
