Illegal entry to Mangalore by Keralites via boat: Yakub gang arrest in Mangalore

Mangalore: Kerala – Karnataka border has been completely closed due to lockdown. However, Mangalore police have arrested a Yakub gang that illegally transported people on a boat from Kerala. Police have registered a criminal case against the arrest of 8 Keralites.

A boat from Yakub and 8 others from Kerala landed in outskirts of Mangalore by boat. Mangalore police have arrested nine persons for illegally entering the district in an attack on certain information. A criminal case has been filed against all of them and they are conducting health checks at Wenlock Hospital.

The investigation is being conducted under the direction of Mangalore City Police Commissioner Dr Harsha. Yacoob has been heard to be accused of shipping people from Kerala by boat to Mangalore.

Many are now being prosecuted as the Yakub gang is being detained. Some ambulance drivers are being prosecuted. In the wake of the Kerala border crossing, the gang is working to transport people to Karnataka.

Anxiety has increased in Mangalore as the Yakub gang is now being detained.
