Coronavirus Latest Updates: Govt launches helpline number, email ID for queries on COVID19 as cases jump to 114

Delhi: With the emergence of new cases of novel coronavirus, the total number of COVID19-positive people in India has surged to 114 on Monday. Prime Minister tweeted on today that since many people are highlighting different aspects of how India is combating COVID-19, it is boosting the morale of all those at the forefront of fighting COVID-19. He urged citizens to avoid non-essential travel and minimising social outing. He assured that at all levels, various authorities are working in sync to ensure COVID-19 does not spread and that no stone is being left unturned to ensure people are healthy. PM Modi lauded doctors, nurses, healthcare workers who are putting great efforts. He said India’s response has shown the strong spirit of our nation in such situations.

Meanwhile, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in India has crossed 100-mark and as per latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has found 114 coronavirus patients as per the data updated on Monday at 04:00 PM. On Sunday, PM Modi did a video call with leaders of SAARC nations to discuss the Coronavirus outbreak and steps to control the spread of the deadly disease. FE Reported.

In total, coronavirus has so far infected 114 persons in the country, the Ministry informed. Out of the 114 cases, 17 patients are foreign nationals. Moreover, of the total tally, two persons have passed away due to the disease, with one death having occurred in Karnataka’s Kalburgi and the second one in Delhi. Thirteen patients have also been discharged after having been recovered.

Most of the cases in India are from Maharashtra, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh with 32, 23 and 12 positive cases respectively. The number of active cases in Haryana is 14 but all of them are foreign nationals. As on Monday, Delhi has 7 active coronavirus cases and 2 people have recovered in the national capital.

Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir additionally have 4 and 3 positive cases, individually. In the meantime , there have been no reports of any positive cases from Northeast India, however the cross-border passenger trains and buses to Bangladesh have been suspended as a careful step.

In addition, 234 Indian nationals have been cleared from Iran on Sunday and have been brought to Jaisalmer, where they will remain at the Indian Army Wellness Center.
