Early morning three terrorists killed in encounter at Jammu Kashmir

Srinagar: All the three terrorists in the truck were killed and the dead body of one terrorist was recovered from the encounter site. Three terrorists who were hiding in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sidra were killed today (Wednesday) in an encounter with the security forces. J-K ADGP said that the terrorists were in the truck when there was a gunfight between the army forces and the militants. Early morning three terrorists killed in encounter at Jammu Kashmir.

All the three terrorists in the truck were killed and the dead body of one terrorist was recovered from the encounter site. The incident took place a day after police defused a 15 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. Army personnel avert a major terrorist attack in Sidra.

Officials said a cylinder-shaped IED, 300-400 grams of RDX, 7 7.62 mm cartridges and 5 detonators were recovered from Basantgarh area. Police have seized a coded sheet and letter pad page of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and arrested a suspect.

Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh said that the driver of the truck with the terrorists fled from the spot. The truck was intercepted at Sidra in Jammu and the driver is absconding. Militants who were hiding in the truck opened fire on the personnel during the inspection. Singh said that the three militants were killed in retaliatory firing on them.
