Dhaka: A terrible accident happened today in Bangladesh. According to media reports, 17 people were killed and 30 injured when the speeding bus fell into a ditch. This incident took place in Madaripur, Bangladesh. The police said that the bus belonged to Amad Parivahan. Bus fall into ditch in Dhaka: 17 dead,30 injured.
Around 7.30 in the morning, the bus heading to Dhaka fell into a gorge on the Madaripur Expressway. So far 17 people have been killed and 30 injured in this accident. The accident was so horrific that the death toll could rise further. Madaripur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Masood Alam said that the injured have been admitted to various hospitals. “It appears that the accident occurred due to over speeding and negligent driving and mechanical fault in the bus. It is currently under investigation”.
Deputy Assistant Director of Faridpur Fire Service, Shiplu Ahmed, said that the wheel of the fast moving bus exploded and lost control and fell into the ditch. Three units of the fire service are carrying out rescue and relief operations.
