people stands in line to buy liquor near the shop as the state government allows liquor sales. but there is no doubt, it is possible in increasing the drink and drive cases. The covid-19 is already a headache for the police. Police now fear to check people with drink and drive as corona virus will spread.
Corona has already adhered to the police department. Department is fed up with the positive report. This is further worried by the police personnel. The drink and drive case is usually checked by the alcometer and its police personnel are able to transmit the virus to each other.
Traffic Additional Police Commissioner Ravi Kantegowda said:
As a precaution by the city police commissioner should only sell alcohol between 9am and 6pm, so that the person who buys the liquor does not drink at any street footpath, park, playground, etc. It is very difficult to check if whether the vehicle vdriver is drunk at night. But if in case the case come to us we will not check instead will take them directly to the hospital.
So be careful about drink and drive in city as u need to pay the higher amount as well with hospital bill amount.
