The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall alert in several parts of the state over the next four days. Coastal and Malnad regions are expected to witness increased rainfall activity, while Bengaluru and parts of South Interior Karnataka may experience morning mist.

In contrast, North Interior Karnataka is likely to continue experiencing warm and mostly dry weather. According to the IMD, a developing low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, coupled with the onset of the northeast monsoon, is expected to bring widespread rainfall across Karnataka during the next four days.

Rainfall is likely in 11 districts across the Coastal and South Interior regions, with Yellow Alerts issued for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts due to the possibility of heavy rainfall. Bengaluru is expected to witness partly cloudy skies until October 14, with light to moderate rain likely in some parts of the city during the evening hours.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30°C, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 20°C, resulting in slightly cooler conditions. However, the weather is expected to change significantly on October 15, when the city is likely to remain generally cloudy with the possibility of heavy rainfall.

The IMD has forecast a mixed weather pattern across Karnataka on October 12 due to the influence of the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal and the advancing northeast monsoon. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in isolated parts of Dakshina Kannada, while showers are also likely across the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada.

Rain is also forecast in the Malnad and South Interior districts, including Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Urban, and Bengaluru Rural. The department has also indicated that rainfall activity could become more widespread across South Interior Karnataka towards the end of the coming week.

Despite the rainfall forecast, maximum temperatures across many inland districts are expected to remain above normal, with dry weather continuing in several places. In Uttara Kannada, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail from morning until evening despite the possibility of rain. Udupi is expected to witness mostly dry weather with isolated light showers.

Similarly, districts including Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagara are likely to experience dry conditions interspersed with light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas over the coming days.
