2nd PUC Results Postponed in Karnataka Due to By-Elections, Students Left Disappointed

Bengaluru : Lakhs of students across Karnataka who were eagerly waiting for the announcement of the 2025–26 Second PUC examination results have been left disappointed, as the results scheduled for release tomorrow have now been postponed.

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) confirmed the development on Monday, stating that the decision was taken due to the enforcement of the election Model Code of Conduct and administrative constraints. Officials said that releasing the results at this time could potentially violate election norms, as by-elections are currently being held in certain Assembly constituencies in the state.

KSEAB Chairman Prakash Nittali stated that the board had already written to the Election Commission seeking permission to declare the results. However, considering the prevailing circumstances and the involvement of several officials in election duties, the board decided to defer the announcement temporarily.

The move has triggered anxiety and frustration among students, parents, and teachers. Many students were preparing to take the next step in their academic journey, including applying for undergraduate courses and professional programs, based on their results. The delay has now disrupted these plans, leaving them in uncertainty.

Despite the postponement, officials clarified that all evaluation processes have been completed and the board is technically ready to release the results. The delay is purely due to administrative and regulatory reasons, and not due to any pending academic work.

Sources within the board indicated that a high-level बैठक is likely to be held on Tuesday evening to finalize a new date for the announcement. There is a strong possibility that the results could be declared within a couple of days once the necessary clearances are obtained.

The board has urged students not to panic and to rely only on official updates. Authorities assured that the revised date for the result declaration will be announced shortly.
