New Delhi: McDonald’s opened its largest restaurant in India in Guwahati on Monday. The number of stores will be doubled in the next three years in North and East India . Along with this, around 300 stores will start in this sector. Rajiv Ranjan, Managing Director of North and East India Zone, said that about 5,000 people are being considered for recruitment.

Rajeev Ranjan said that the company is on a rapid growth path and is looking forward to expand its operations in the states.
He said, ‘We are aiming to overcome all the problems and grow the industry.’ This is how he answered a question regarding the legal conflict with McDonald’s former partners. The company currently has 156 restaurants in North and East India. Our priority is to double this in the next three years. Ranj said that the number of employees will also be doubled.
Guwahati is the capital of North East India. Hence, this is an important area and opening a restaurant here will complement our expansion plan. He opined that we intend to open many stores in North Eastern states.
