The official said the Army chopper crashed in the Gujran Nallah area in the Gurez Valley, following which a rescue operation was launched immediately. They, however, said the fate of the pilot and the co-pilot was being ascertained.

It is believed that the pilot and the co-pilot ejected safely, but there has been no word from officials yet. The sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Gurez told media that communication with the Army chopper was lost. “We are ascertaining the details,” he said.
