Urigowda Nanjegowda Movie: Despite of strong objection Minister Munirathna decided to produce movie
Nirmalananda Swamiji has given call to producer Munirathna, who is going to produce Urigowda Nanjegowda movie despite the opposition, and tomorrow Munirathna will meet Nirmalananda Swamiji and discuss about the movie. After the Urigowda- Nanjegowda issue caused a political uproar, the producer, Horticulture Department Minister Munirathna has announced the release date of the movie with Urigowda-Nanjegowda as the main characters. But Nirmalananda Swamiji invited Muniratna to discuss this matter, and Munirathna said that he will announce his decision about the production of the film after the meeting. As a producer, I thought let’s produce Urigowda-Nanjegowda film, but Nirmalananda Swamiji has told me to come tomorrow (March 20). He said that he will not talk about the movie until we discuss with him.
R Ashoka and Aswath Narayana have already talked about the history of Urigowda-Nanjegowda, I am a producer have decided to make their film. Discussions are going on regarding the movie. Regarding the movie, Adichunchanagiri Shri has called me to discuss, tomorrow morning I will meet and he said that I will proceed according to his advice.
BJP floated the argument that Urigowda and Nanjegowda killed Tippu. Some historians, JD(S) and Congress party leaders have objected that the BJP has created unprecedented Urigowda-Nanje Gowda characters to divide the Okkaliga community during the elections.
Muniratna Urigowda-Nanjegowda had applied to the Karnataka Film Academy for the movie title while the controversy was going on. Former CM HD Kumaraswamy, who strongly opposed this, had criticized Munirathna’s decision through a series of tweets. After that, Okkaliga Youth Brigade and Non-resident Indian Okkaliga Youth Brigade expressed their displeasure against Munirathna and said, ‘Vrishabhadri Productions has submitted a request to the Board of Commerce to produce Urigowda and Nanjegowda films.
There is no information about the two persons Urigowda and Nanjegowda in the government records, historical records and drafts available in the local administration, so they should not be given permission to make this movie. But Munirathna, who did not give up on the opposition, released the poster of Urigowda-Nanjegowda movie yesterday (March 18). Minister Aswath Narayan will provide cinematography for this movie. R.S.Gowda announced that he will direct this movie.
Now Nirmalananda Swamiji has intervened in this matter and Munirathna, who is planning to produce Urigowda-Nanjegowda movie, has spoken to him and we have to wait and see if he will withdraw from the movie production.
