Veteran Bollywood films director Esmayeel Shroff passed away following a brief illness here late on Wednesday, a family friend said. Bollywood famous director Esmayeel Shroff passed away. He was around 65 and breathed his last at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
Once a leading director, he had wielded the megaphone for several hits, including “Ahista Ahista”, “Bulandi”, “Thodi Si Bewafai”, “Surya”, etc. Several celebs posted condolence messages on social media and otherwise. Shabana Azmi, who had worked with Shroff multiple times in the past, paid tribute to the filmmaker on Twitter.
However, she mentioned him as ‘director of my film Thodisi Bewafaii’ and didn’t mention his name on her tweet. She was trolled on Twitter for the same. Esmayeel Shroff has directed many films in Bollywood such as Ahista Ahista, Zid, Agar, God and Gun, Police Public, Majhdhaar, Dil Akhir Dil Hai, Bulundi, Nishchaiy, Suryaa and Jhuta Sach.

Bollywood famous director Esmayeel Shroff worked as Assistant Director to Bheem Singh and later directed his first film Thodisi Bewafaii. His last film as a director was Thoda Tum Badlo, Thoda Hum, which released in 2004. It featured Arya Babbar and Shriya Saran in lead roles.
