Weather Alert: School Summer Holiday till June 30 in this state
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heat wave conditions in several parts of the country. Haryana government has announced summer vacation for all government and private schools from tomorrow May 28.

According to media reports, schools will resume on July 1. Significantly, earlier, the summer vacation in the state was scheduled from June 1-30, but how it was earlier scheduled from May 28. This comes as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heat wave conditions in several parts of the country.
Hot to very hot conditions have been forecast for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan and East Rajasthan till May 28, the Meteorological Office said in a bulletin. According to IMD, severe heat waves due to heat wave in parts of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and isolated pockets of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on 29 May.
An orange alert has been issued for hot wind conditions in parts of West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and isolated pockets of Vidarbha on May 30.
Meanwhile, the notification came a day after District Collector Gurugram issued a notice on May 26, “In pursuance of the instructions issued by the Director of Secondary Education Haryana, Panchkula’s letter no. sPL5/19-2024 dated 19.05.2024, in view of extreme heat in District Gurugram, all from Kindergarten to Class 8 holiday declared from 27.05.2024 to 31.05.2024 for Govt/Semi Govt/Private Schools.

“District Education Officer and District Primary Education Officer, Gurugram are directed to ensure that no Govt/Semi Govt/Private schools from Kindergarten to Class VIII remain open from 27.05.2024 to 31.05.2024. These orders must be strictly followed,” the notice added.
