Heavy rain continued in the district today, it is difficult for students to come to class. Udupi: Heavy Rainfall schools and colleges holiday tomorrow. Holiday declared for Hebri Taluk schools in the wake of heavy rainfall. Deputy Collector Veena BS declared holiday for Hebri Taluk Anganwadi, Primary, high schools, Pre-university colleges and Colleges.

It has been raining heavily in the coastal areas for the past few days and Rain roar continues across Dakshina Kannada district. A holiday has been declared for all the schools and colleges of the taluk due to heavy Rainfall in Belthangadi taluk of the district.

District Collector Dr. Rajendra KV has issued an order declaring holiday for all schools and colleges from Anganwadi to Degree College. Further, due to heavy rains in Dakshina Kannada district and Ghatta area, Kumaradhara Bathing Ghat of Kukke Subrahmanya of Kadaba Taluk of the district has been inundated.

Heavy water is flowing from the Ghat area and there has been an increase in the water flow of the Kumaradhara River. In this background, devotees have been instructed not to enter the water at the bathing area. A spell of heavy rainfall on Sunday, July 3, left several parts of Karnataka’s Chikkamnagaluru district inundated.

The heavy rainfall over the weekend has resulted in water bodies overflowing and this has caused waterlogging in areas. The Bhadra river’s catchments in Chikkamangaluru district are also overflowing due to the incessant rains on Saturday and Sunday.
