Summer vacation has already been announced for primary and high schools in the state. Thus children are spending their summer holidays (Karnataka School Holiday) with much excitement. On this occasion, the Education Department has given sweet news to the primary and high school students. School Holiday days Increased: good news for school children’s and teachers.
Next year 2023-24 academic year holidays have been increased and school days have been reduced. Thus, only 244 days of educational activities will be held in primary and high schools of Karnataka. According to the guidelines issued by the Department of Primary and Secondary School Education, the number of school days for children has been reduced by 26 days.
Thus, there will be a total of 244 school days this year, out of which only 180 days will be teaching days, the guidelines said. The learning recovery which was extra in last year is absent this year and the Dussehra holiday is longer this year and the school days are shorter in this regard. Compared to the previous year, this time the school duty days have been drastically reduced during the academic period.
Similarly, there has been a significant reduction of 48 days in learning days compared to last year. In the academic year 2022-23 there were 270 duty days. Through this, students and teachers will get an additional 26 vacation days this year. In order to make up for the setback in the educational progress of the children due to the last time, the school academic activity started from May 14.
Therefore, a 14-day learning program was conducted in May last year. However, learning recovery program will not be held this year. School will start from May 29 and school children can spend most of the summer vacation with their families.
Dussehra Holiday Details for Academic Year 2023-24:
In the last academic year, Dussehra holiday was scheduled from October 3 to 16 only 14 days in total. But this year there will be a total of 20 days holiday from October 8 to 25. Similarly, compared to last year, one day in June, July and three days in December have increased.

School will open only 180 days in the academic year 2023-24:
In the last academic year there were 228 teaching learning days, this year there will be only 180 learning days. The government has fixed 244 school duty days in this academic year. In this, only 180 days will be left for the teaching-learning process. For rest 26 days for examinations and evaluation process, 24 days for administration of co-curricular activities / competitions, 10 days for evaluation and result analysis work and four days for school local holidays. Thus there will be only 180 learning days in this year.
