Covid- 19 fear starts in country. School and colleges closed till July 24 amid covid cases rise in this state. Manipur Schools closed announcement has been made by the state government on July 12, 2022. In the view of rising COVID-19 cases in Manipur, the government has said that all School closed till July 24, 2022.
A copy of the official orders has been shared below for reference. Manipur Schools closed announcement has also been made by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Taking to Twitter, CM Singh wrote, “With the increasing number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state in the past few days, the Government of Manipur have directed all schools of the state to remain closed till the 24th of this month.”
Manipur Schools closing again comes at a time when summer vacations were scheduled to end on July 16, 2022. As per the official orders, summer vacations in Manipur schools were from June 20 to July 15, 2022. However, in the view of rising COVIS cases, these summer vacations have been extended. In addition to this, the official orders on the closure of Manipur schools also mention that many children below the age of 12 years have not been vaccinated yet.

More so, the Test Positivity Ratio is over 15% in the state, increasing the risk. Students and staff in Manipur schools are advised to make a note of this extension of summer vacations and resulting Manipur schools closure. They are also advised to stay in touch with their educational institutions for latest updates on reopening.
