Parents of more than 50 children studying in a private school near Chalukya Circle in the city have approached the school and submitted a request to drop Kannada language from the curriculum News 9 reported. The private school is thinking of approaching the Karnataka Education Department regarding the parents’ demands.

News 9 reported that they have asked to write a letter to the school administration about this. Parents have argued that if English is included instead of Kannada in the curriculum, it will help their children when they are selected for higher education.

Meanwhile, members of pro-Kannada organizations have expressed their outrage against parents’ demand to drop Kannada from the curriculum. Some took to twitter to demand action against schools and parents who are opposing Kannada in Karnataka. In the wake of huge opposition, the school management said that it will strictly follow the government rules regarding the curriculum.
